The U.S. Department of Energy has closed a controversial loophole in the American Recovery and Reinvestment Act of 2009 (ARRA) and is now mandating that all stimulus-funded LED traffic signal projects across the country use U.S.-made equipment. At present, Neo-Neon has three LED epitaxial wafer plants in china, in which two of them in jiangmen and the other in Yangzhou. A factory in jiangmen has 15 MOCVD sets and can produce 30,000 2-inch epitaxial wafers every month. The other factory would install 5-10 led high bay light sets by the end of 2011. Meanwhile, the factory in Yangzhou planed to install 5 MOCVD sets in December and start production in January-February 2011.

AkzoNobel will begin mass production of Trimethyl Gallium (TMG), a key LED precursor material to satisfy the global demand for its High Purity MetalOrganics product range.

During this past June 2010, it has successfully LED Linear high bay light doubled its production capacity for TMG at its world-scale production facilities in LaPorte, Texas, USA.

In a bid to continue to meet the growing demand from especially the LED industry, it has decided to advance its plans for expansion of TMG capacity, again doubling the production capacity. And the increased volumes will become available as of February 2011.
