They needed a solution which met their energy reduction targets but improved light levels

They needed a solution which met their energy reduction targets but improved light levels and created a sense of well-being for their car park users and we were able to provide it.”

According to the program, Hubbell Lighting will utilize its four different types of LED outdoor pedestrian lighting fixtures to replace 250 watt high-pressure sodium (HPS) lamped street lights known as cobra-heads, and 215 watt mercury-vapor pedestrian post-top fixtures along the sidewalks on the Hyatt Regency block of Main Street between Beattie Place and East North Street. The four types include Parkway Square, Cubic Indirect, Providence and Promenade.

All of the new LED lighting fixtures from Hubbell Lighting take advantage of the newest solid-state lighting technology and offer significantly improved energy efficiency (40-85%) over the old mercury-vapor and high-pressure sodium fixtures that were previously installed in the 1970s and 80s. The new fixtures also have a very long life expectancy (approximately 50,000 hours), which will bring an added benefit to the City in reduced maintenance costs.

Additionally, Hubbell Lighting deployed this energy-efficient technology over the center drive lanes of Main Street with its new Roadway RM LED cobra-head street lighting fixtures. The state-of-the-art optics feature 48 LEDs (68w) that deliver more visible and uniform light with an unprecedented 89 lumens per watt energy efficiency. The Roadway RM LED Series is also available as a retrofit kit (Roadway RF LED kit) for use in existing HPS cobra head fixtures from other lighting manufacturers. The Roadway RM LED Series can be specified with an optional photocell to help the City maximize its energy savings by automatically shutting the luminaire off during daylight hours without any additional programming or maintenance required. The installation of these streetlights provides the City of Greenville with a low maintenance, high efficiency LED solution that has more than four times the life of HPS with over 65% energy savings.

The Lumentalk technology turns existing electrical wiring into a stable

A crime lab requires very specialized lighting,” said Allen Hamm, Assistant Director of the JCCL.  “The Lusio LED fixtures deliver high footcandles and wide distributions to effectively cover large work spaces.  Lusio also delivers substantial energy savings and reduced maintenance costs, which played an integral role in the design of the new facility.”

The lighting system consists of Philips tubular LED lighting systems that are solar-powered by day and is powered by the Meralco power grid at night via a grid-interactive photovoltaic system. The photovoltaic system is made up of the solar panels along with the power converter, and is hooked up to the Meralco grid. With the system in place, the City of Mandaluyong is poised to save up to 51% in electricity expenses every year.

a leading innovator and manufacturer of high performance, architectural LED-based lighting solutions for commercial, institutional, and urban environments, today announced it has received U.S. Patent 8,179,058, issued May 15, 2012. The patent, the first of seven pending for the company’s Lumentalk? technology, provides a method of intuitively reading a traditional analog TRIAC dimmer in a digital fashion, which enables digital control of LED lighting over existing AC power lines, to maximize cost and energy savings.

The Lumentalk technology turns existing electrical wiring into a stable, noise-free high-speed communications link for data, enabling LED fixtures to be reliably controlled without additional wiring.  The technology eliminates the cost and disruption of having to open up walls and ceilings to install additional data cabling as part of a retrofit project – enabling a dramatic 30% reduction in total installation costs.

continues to develop exciting linear LED lighting solutions

Katona joins Next Lighting after previously working with Soraa Inc., serving in various management roles in engineering, marketing and business development since 2009.  He has been working with Led high bay light for over 13 years, having received a Ph.D in Electrical Engineering from the University of California at Santa Barbara, a renowned center for solid-state lighting research.

“Tom brings a breadth of experience that bridges across both the traditional LED and lighting industries.  This breadth is essential in developing innovative products that provide unique value during this time of transition in the lighting industry,” said Randall Sosnick, Chief Executive Officer. “We are very excited to add him to our core team that continues to develop exciting linear LED lighting solutions.”

Sharp's LED luminaires are powered by its Zenigata chip technology which enables the delivery of extremely energy-efficient luminaires that offer higher color quality and better performance than comparable traditional source lighting products, such as incandescent, halogen, compact fluorescent, and even ceramic metal halide.

As compared to other LED lighting products, Sharp Zenigata components operate at high efficiency levels, combined with high levels of color saturation, yielding a CRI well above 90+. Most other Led linear high bay light products with comparable light output typically deliver CRI measurements in the low to mid 80s. Sharp LED luminaires are superior to traditional source lighting products as they consume less energy and produce less heat resulting in additional energy savings and reduced HVAC loads in buildings. In addition, Sharp luminaires do not give off UV light, which can cause color fading in fabrics and artwork and do not contain mercury, which can lead to lamp disposal issues. Sharp luminaires feature extremely long lamp life delivering approximately 50,000 hours of operation, which can significantly reduce the relamping of traditional lighting sources from 10 to 50 times over the life of the lamp.

LED lights to provide better light output while slashing the cost potentially by more than half

The company has closed $2 million of the Series A round led by the Oregon Angel Fund and Portland-based venture capital firm Pivotal Investments. CEO Ron Nelson, who also contributed to the round, said another $1 million has been committed and should close by the end of July. The Led linear high bay light company is developing a technology which will allow manufacturers of long-lasting LED lights to provide better light output while slashing the cost potentially by more than half.

The funding round will be used to continue development. The company expects to return to the market later this year for a Series B round of between $4 million and $8 million, which would help build a sales team and gear up for manufacturing, which Nelson said could start sometime in the second half of 2013.

LEDs emit high-intensity blue energy that, when emitted through various colored phosphors, converts to the warmer hues typical of home or office use. Pacific Light aims to replace the use of those phosphors with “quantum dots” — chemically created microscopic semiconductors that Nelson says provide stronger output that is tuneable to different hues.

According to the research team, they designed low droop and high efficacy Led high bay light by altering the direction of the crystal structure within semiconductor films. Droop refers to significant drop in efficiency at extreme currents. It is one of the major factors that retard the growth of the solid-state lighting market.

This can then be used as a selectable night light

The product is a compact power harvesting, storage, and lighting system. Electric power generated by solar cells during the day is stored in a nickel-metal hydride battery unit. This can then be used as a selectable night light and power source for charging small items of equipment, such as cellphones.

At present, 1.3 billion people worldwide*1 live in areas with no or intermittent mains electricity. This means that approximately 20% of the world's population (one person in five)*1 lives without enjoying the advantages of electricity. In most non-electrified areas, people use kerosene lamps, rechargeable lanterns, diesel generators, etc., to provide lighting. However, these forms of led high bay light equipment have numerous drawbacks, including toxic exhaust, low levels of illumination, and high running costs. Cellphone networks are, however, widespread in these areas, despite the lack of an equipment-recharging infrastructure.

Panasonic is committed to the reliable supply of clean and safe light and power. This commitment led to the production of its "Solar Lantern" in 2013-a portable lantern that provides non-electrified areas with the light that people need. Now the company has added "eneloop solar storage" to its lineup of products. The product comes with a straight tube LED and a bulb-type LED, which deliver bright, high-quality light, and the unit can also be used as a high-capacity power source for charging multiple cellphones. The new product will be marketed not only through existing sales dealers but also via international organizations such as NPOs and NGOs that are helping people living in non-electrified areas to develop a better standard of living environment.

Philips Lumileds has fully launched LUXEON M which is now in volume production. The new emitter has already been approved for street lighting in major US cities with designs to be shown at Light + Building.led linear high bay light lumen output—more than 1100 lumens— and typical voltage of 11.2V drives down system cost and improves system performance through the use of low cost, highly efficient drivers. The tremendous light output and efficacy at operating conditions lowers overall solution costs.
