the megapixels the camera can produce

Even though a company is granted the right to develop a new product, does not mean that they will be doing so anytime soon. It would be nice to see smartphones with some advancements in camera technology that does not only revolve around the megapixels the camera can produce. The new patent for Google could mean changes in the design for the Nexus brand smartphones and tablets, or it could mean a new look for some Droid handsets from Motorola. Motorola has a phone called the X phone that is one the list of to be released, but it is not clear if this technology will end up there or not.The lower-power products range in typical output power from 1600-3600 lm. Higher driver currents can produce 2480-460 lm. The LEDs have a minimum CRI of 80. Some of the products also have a CRI of 90 for applications such as retail lighting. The products reportedly deliver high R9 values for red colors.

it is available at low costs and highly abundant on earth

With the liquid-processed silicon LEDs that may potentially be produced on large areas as well as at low costs, the nanoparticle community enters new territory, the associated potentials of which can hardly be estimated today. But presumably, textbooks about semiconductor components have to be rewritten,” says Geoffrey A. Ozin, who is presently working as a KIT distinguished research fellow at KIT’s Center for Functional Nanostructures (CFN).The SiLEDs also have the advantage that they do not contain any heavy metals. In contrast to cadmium selenide, cadmium sulfide or lead sulfide used by other groups of researchers, the silicon used by this group for the light-emitting nanoparticles is not toxic. Moreover, it is available at low costs and highly abundant on earth. Due to their many advantages, the LEDs will be developed further in cooperation with other partners. What we are aiming to develop is a significantly more efficient white LED, which would be around 50-60% efficient. If we can do that and it becomes widely adopted then the effects on energy consumption would be enormous. It would also produce lighting over which much more control could be exercised in brightness and tone."
Scientists on the project intend to examine every stage of the current LED fabrication process. The goal is to develop a range of areas where they can make improvements, such as new levels of control of semiconductor properties on a near-atomic level to light mixing and heat management. It is estimated that efficient white light LEDs, if successfully developed and widely implemented, could have a massive effect on reducing global energy consumption and C02 emissions.GE Lighting has replaced1,470 sets of halide lamps at Malaysia’sMASkargo Advance Cargo Centre with its Hi-Beam T5 High Bay system using GE’s technologically advanced system, a solution tailored for industrial vertical. it saves from power bills for streetlights

Other phases of the project include installing solar panels at city facilities and creating plug-in electric vehicle charging stations. The city has about 7,300 street lights and plan to replace 7,100 of those with LED lights by mid- to late-summer, Assistant City Manager Troy Brown said. The remaining 200 street lights in town will not be replaced, as a majority of them are decorative lights in the downtown area.City officials began a pilot program testing LED street lights in several neighborhoods in February and March. Agent of floodlight Residents provided the city with positive feedback and were pleased with the neighborhood upgrades, officials said.As the global market for LED products continues to expand, a race has developed among manufacturers to come out with cheaper versions of LED light bulbs to capture a bigger chunk of the consumer market.
The Lahore Development Authority during its governing body meeting on December 6, 2012, had approved the installation of LED lights. The idea behind the decision was to conserve electricity. The Traffic Engineering and Transport Planning Agency handed the project to an international company in February, 2013. TEPA was given a deadline of two months to complete the project. However, so far work has only finished on four roads, MM Alam Road, Peco Road, Model Town Link Road and Khyaban-i-Firdous.According to the project proposal, a company would install LEDs in the entire city replacing sodium lights which consume 120 per cent more electricity. Over a stipulated time the government will only pay the company the amount it saves from power bills for streetlights. K&N International, Islamabad, has placed an unsolicited bid for the project.

Sharp LED lighting products provide high quality light

The LuxiTune light engine is comprised of a 12-die. The die are matched to within 3 MacAdam ellipses (SDCM) and dimming tracks the black body curve to within three SDCM, producing what LED Engin describes as consistent, natural light across the full dimming and CCT range. LuxiTune employs a multi-layer ceramic substrate that the company claims minimizes the package thermal resistance and provides an almost stress-free environment for the chips providing effective heat dissipation and maximum light emission. LED Engin says that these features ensure that color point stability is maintained throughout the product’s long service life. Optics are available in 24°, 32° and 45° beam angles. Furthermore, the company says that the lenses facilitate uniformity over angle, maximize lumens in the beam while minimizing glare and produce a gentle roll-off profile at the beam edges.President and CEO of LED Engin, David Tahmassebi, commented, “Our customers in the hospitality and high-end residential sectors have been eager for an LED-based lighting solution that tunes along the black body as it dims while leveraging our strengths in lumen density and lux-on-target performance.
By offering higher lumen outputs, Toshiba products appeal to a broader range of applications,” said Peter DallePezze, Vice President of Marketing and Product Development, Toshiba International Corporation LED Lighting Systems Division. “The range of lumen outputs and multiple color temperatures make our new LED downlights highly desirable for lighting designers working to create unique and inviting environments. The key benefits of Toshiba’s LED downlights over HID downlights are the product’s rated life, low lumen depreciation and high color consistency. Toshiba’s LED downlights last up to three times longer than typical HID downlights. The longer LED product life helps create a tremendous savings over HID in replacement lamp costs, particularly when considering both product and labor costs. Additionally, LED technology outperforms HID lighting when comparing lumen depreciation and color consistency over the life of the product.

they have failed to effectively cut transport emissions

Payback time is estimated at around seven to nine years, which is an outstanding spend to save case based on energy savings of as much as 40 to 60%. It is an excellent example of how investing in low-carbon projects can have long-term savings as well as helping to protect the environment," Lochhead said.Lang Banks, director of Agent of floodlight  said street lighting cost millions of pounds a year and contributed significantly to CO2 emissions by public bodies, so any cut in energy use would be "great news for taxpayers as well as the planet."However, environment groups still believe ministers in Edinburgh are struggling to meet Scotland's ambitious carbon reduction target because they have failed to effectively cut transport emissions and improve energy efficiency in housing.

The lighting upgrades should also improve visibility along the state's Thruway and Canal system, the governor said in a news release."As we celebrate Earth Week, New York is continuing to move forward with efforts to increase energy efficiency and reduce costs in state government by adopting new green technologies," Cuomo said. "The Thruway’s LED lighting project is one example of how we are doing our part to use less electricity. In addition, these environmentally friendly upgrades will result in significant savings – and pay for themselves – which is great news for toll payers."The Thruway Authority's yearly electric bill is about $2 million. LED of which halogen is the most widely used technology

The primary purpose of lighting in vehicle is to provide visibility for the driver under darkness and bad weather conditions and to intimate the vehicle presence, position, and size to other pedestrians and motorists on the road.Other than these purposes, lighting is also installed inside vehicles to increase the look of vehicles interior, which has become a major part of attraction mainly in passenger cars. The three major technologies used in automotive lighting are halogen, xenon/HID, and LED of which halogen is the most widely used technology. Also, the increasing purchasing power of consumers has given rise to the demand for advanced and sophisticated led high bay light technologies such advanced front lighting system (AFS) and daylight running lights (DRLs). Increasing vehicle production in the BRIC nations would serve as a potential market for automotive lighting in the coming years.

The key concerns in the industry pertain to the high cost of LED lighting technology and the high R&D costs involved in developing such advanced technologies. The advancements in automotive lighting technologies have led to several modifications mainly in the passenger car segment. With the development of LED lighting technology the market witnessed a good rate of installation in the premium segment of passenger cars mainly in the tail lamps, front DRLs, and vehicle interior. Currently, LED technology is used in front head lamps as well. His career has included; Vice President at Bombardier Transportation, Chief Executive of EEF Sheffield, EEF’s Director of Ventures, and Managing Director of SailTime North Wales.Steven is married with two children, is a Chartered Mechanical Engineer and has an MBA from Sheffield Hallam University.

Owing to improved driving visibility, higher efficiency, longer life span, high resistance to vibration, smaller packaging level, and flexibility to make lighting units of different shapes and sizes; the usage of LED lighting in the automotive industry increased to a great extent and is further expected to grow at a promising rate in coming years. this global forum composed of water industry leaders

We are thrilled to be recognized by this global forum composed of water industry leaders, market experts and our peers," said Therese Jordan, senior VP of business development at Crystal IS. "This honor signifies the global market’s confidence in our technology and its future impact.BlueTech Research monitors the global water market for companies with innovative and disruptive technologies and a strong go-to-market strategy. The Disrupt-o-Meter Award is given to the water technology company that has the highest potential to not only influence existing markets, but open up new markets because of its ability to be used in various applications. The buffer is the result of over 10 years research at the Queensland Micro and Nanotechnology Facility (QMF) of Griffith University, and a tie-up with Gwent-based fab equipment maker led high bay light Fabricating GaN LEDs and power devices on large diameter silicon wafers is viewed as a path to reduce cost. However, existing buffer layers used to bridge the large thermal and lattice mismatch between silicon and GaN are costly and not completely effective for large scale production," claimed SPTS. "A 3C-SiC film provides an effective buffer, layer lattice-matched for GaN growth on silicon, as well as an impervious barrier to prevent silicon from diffusing into GaN, of particular concern for power devices."
Initial estimates suggest the process would add no more than $35 to mass produced wafers. We believe we are the first in the world to grow 3C-SiC epitaxially on 300mm silicon wafers, which means following the same crystal structure as the silicon crystal substrate," said Alan Iacopi, QMF director of operations. "The reactor development project with SPTS has allowed the QMF R&D process to be extended from small wafers up to 300mm wafers with semiconductor industry specifications. We have already achieved SiC film thickness uniformities of around 1% on 300mm wafers. The new reactor has been designed for high-temperature vacuum processing of batch loads of 150mm to 300mm wafers, with process automation suitable for commercial application", said SPTS CEO William Johnson. "There are a number of buffer and template wafer suppliers offering alternative solutions. However, we see a strong business case for device manufacturers adopting the QMF/SPTS SiC solution to optimise process and control substrate costs.

disaster relief services was made easier

Since its first pioneering efforts in 2009, the solar-powered LED lighting has tripled its light output, while reducing the costs by two-thirds.Dehmel says ‘enabling life in the evening with light’ was a key aspect in the development of Europe and the US in the twentieth century. It led to safer environments for communities, economic growth and social development. Evening education classes became viable, while providing healthcare and disaster relief services was made easier.Philips has chosen to launch these light centres in communities by using the light for a night-time soccer match. The company has partnered with the Royal Netherlands Football Association (KNVB) to bring awareness to communities about solar-powered led high bay lighting manufacturer and its applications.
As a response to the SSL Manufacturing R&D funding opportunity announcement made in December, the US. Department of Energy (DOE) has competitively selected five projects for SSL to receive the fourth round of funding. The two-year projects will focus on reducing costs while maintaining quality by improving the quality and performance of light-emitting diodes (LEDs) and organic light-emitting diodes. Total DOE funding for the five projects is $10.1 million, while the five companies will put in a matching $10.1 million investment. This partnership with industry to produce affordable, efficient lighting will save consumers money and create American jobs," said DOE Secretary Ernest Moniz. "It’s another example of how energy efficiency is a win-win proposition for our economy."

According to a new report by the Energy Department, LED lamps and fixtures installed in US have increased 10-fold over the last two years – from 4.5 million units in 2010 to 49 million units in 2012. These installations, which include common indoor and outdoor applications such as recessed lighting and streetlights, are expected to save about $675 million in annual energy costs. By 2030, LED lighting is projected to represent about 75% of all lighting sales, saving enough energy to power approximately 26 million US households.Today’s LED lighting is much more efficient than conventional lighting and can last up to 25 times longer.Led tunnel light costs are attractive, but the initial price of LED and OLED lighting is currently higher than the price of traditional lighting. The five projects announced today will help reduce the cost in manufacturing equipment and processes, while improving lighting quality and performance.

they say would make LED bulbs cheaper

Yesterday, a group of people consisting of ten academicians from Chinese Academy of Sciences (CAS), two leaders from National Natural Science Foundation of China (NSFC) and three industry specialists came to Chengdu and conducted an appraisal for the "research and development of Controllable Rare Earth LED luminescent material and its application in the semiconductor lighting"Light-emitting diodes, or Wholesale Led high bay light are the most efficient and environmentally friendly light bulbs on the market. But they come at a higher up-front price than other bulbs, especially the ones with warmer and more appealing hues.Researchers at the University of Washington have created a material they say would make LED bulbs cheaper and greener to manufacture, driving down the price. Their silicon-based nanoparticles soften the blue light emitted by LEDs, creating white light that more closely resembles sunlight.

The company, LumiSands, started as a graduate student project for CEO Chang-Ching Tu, who received his doctorate in electrical engineering at the UW and just completed a stint as a postdoctoral researcher in materials science and engineering. This spring, the start-up company spun out from the UW Center for Commercialization, a process that its two founders hope will lead to signing a commercialization license for the technology.LEDs give off light when electrons move through a semiconductor material. They are more efficient than standard incandescent or fluorescent bulbs, but they're also pricier. That's partly because within each LED lamp, expensive substances known as rare-earth-element phosphors help to soften the harsh blue light that LEDs naturally emit. But these rare-earth elements are hazardous to extract and process. China controls nearly all of the market for these materials, which has quadrupled the average price for the past several years. That's where LumiSands comes in. The company uses silicon, derived from sand, instead of rare-earth elements to convert part of the blue light emitted by LEDs into greens, yellows and reds. The resulting light looks more like sunlight.

The crew of two plans to sell directly to led streetlight market segment manufacturers that are looking to transition away from increasingly more expensive materials to make the lights.Hopefully, manufacturers could substitute traditional rare-earth elements with our material with minimal additional steps," said Ji Hoo, a UW doctoral student in electrical engineering and co-founder of LumiSands. "It will be cheaper, better-quality lighting for users.Incandescent bulbs give off light that's most similar to sunlight – and easiest on our eyes – but the bulbs are inefficient and produce a lot of heat. Fluorescent bulbs, seen most commonly as long tubes in overhead office light fixtures, are more efficient than incandescent lights, but they contain mercury, posing health and environmental concerns.

Glass tube is the new trend in the LED light tube market

SMC won the 2013 Best LED Light Bulb award with their MR16 Focus. This product has a single cover, a 20 degree beam angle, no shadowing, standard size MR16 small light board, the convenient optics as well as thermal design features, all of which make it different from other products. The luminous efficacy, production cost, heat dissipation, and lighting quality of MR16 are highly praised by the committee. No shadowing is one of the advantages of Led flood light, and due to the design, the chip size is smaller. It presents a point light source which is suitable for commercial lighting. The design of this product has great potential in the market, which is the main reason why it was named the Best LED Light Bulb.Glass tube is the new trend in the LED light tube market. Unlike other LED light tubes with light spots that causes discomfort and along with a high degree of lighting efficiency, safety, and reliability, Lite-On’s LED glass tube stood out among other competitors.
Lextar won the Best LED Light Tube Design award with their 8 feet high efficiency T8 LED light tube. The luminous efficacy of this product is 110lm/w.It is 2.4 meters long with a diameter of 2.5 centimeters which allows it to present a direct and uniformed light. It is not affected by production, assembly, or material restrictions. The service life of this product is 40,000 hours, and the light weight also meets safety and energy-saving demands.Led high bay light double astrolabe chandelier was chosen as the winner of this year’s Best Panel Light Design award. In this product, six leaves form an astrolabe, and the two astrolabes create multiple reflections. Direct and indirect light form an elegant glow that is suitable for domestic, commercial, and office lighting.

When designing panel lights, manufacturers should consider both the cost and the appearance, for a beautiful design is a large purchase incentive to international customers. Therefore, with a beautiful design and good lighting quality, Xcellent’s double astrolabe chandelier stood firm as the Best Panel Light Design. In addition to the product’s luminous efficacy, the creativity of technology is also an important factor to the committee when selecting a winner for the Best LED Spotlight award.LED’s non-glare crystal AR111 not only has a superior performance but also reduces glare. Having in mind that a paraboloid can reflect a uniformed parallel light, GosoLED developed a parabolic reflector to release uniformed light and avoid glare.
