It is now publishing preliminary quarterly results for the first time. "We
can look back on a successful listing and a good third quarter. We succeeded in
increasing adjusted EBITA substantially while returning to comparable revenue
growth. Our transformation effort continues to make rapid progress; we are ahead
of schedule regarding the planned savings. For the current fiscal year, we are
raising our earnings outlook slightly and now expect a positive net income. This
underscores our leading role in the transition to LED.

one last time to make room for a super high efficiency pure white LED
In line with reports, Peter Holm and Brandon Williams, the Firefly Pick
creators, are wrapping up their fundraiser for an LED flashing guitar pick that
creates a rhythmic light show synchronized to music as it is being played. The
duo launched the campaign on July 10th, and has currently raised almost $35000
from supporters who want to see the pick make it to market in return for a
Firefly Pick of their own.
The project reached its goal more than a week early, and if the project raises another $10000, the team promises to revamp the circuit board one last time to make room for a super high efficiency pure white LED. They’ll still have the red/green/blue LEDs to provide color, but the additional white LED will greatly amplify the maximum brightness. And they’re able to do all of this without a reduction in battery life or increase in size.
The Firefly Pick’s Kickstarter campaign offers a series of compelling rewards to backers which will not be available after August 14th. The Firefly Pick is normally priced at $49, but a few 4-pack and 10-pack bundles are available at a discounted rate of $30 per pick. With four versions and nine colors available, there are dozens of combinations to customize each of the Firefly Picks in a bundle. The highest level of reward is an offer to promote a backer’s personal music or band using the Firefly Pick’s social networks, in addition to 10 Firefly Picks.
Those wishing to take advantage of the project’s exclusive rewards have a variety of options when it comes to their Firefly Pick rewards; backers can choose from the Firefly Pick Original, Duo, Air and Insanity. The Firefly Pick Original flashes quickly and precisely to a wide range of playing motion while ignoring unrelated movements. This version is the most rhythmic option and the most well rounded Firefly Pick. The Firefly Pick Air flashes in response to hand motion as well as playing action, so it works on any body rhythm even without a guitar. This version is fun even for non-guitarists, but is also ideal for slower tempos, drawn out finishes and tracking whammy bar motion. The Firefly Pick Duo flashes one color of the player’s choice on the up stroke, and a different color of the player’s choice on the down stroke. And last is the Firefly Pick Insanity, which flashes one color of the player’s choice on the up stroke, and a random color on each down stroke. All four versions come in any of the nine LED light colors.

LED lighting driver integrated circuits for solid state lighting
Due to the phase out of low efficiency illuminants around the world, modern
LED-lighting solutions are enjoying a growth in popularity and the lighting
market is gradually adapting to these changes. Therefore, more manufacturers
intends to switch to LED industry, RECOM Lighting is no exception, it is an
innovative leader over the past 35 years in the manufacture and distribution of
DC/DC and AC/DC converters, switching regulators and LED drivers.
According to relevant reports, recently, RECOM Lighting has introduced ultra-compact 25 watt LED driver for global use. With the new RACD25 series, RECOM Lighting extends its broad product portfolio of high-quality LED drivers. Thanks to their long, sleek shape, the 25W modules are ideally suitable as power source for the conversion from fluorescent lamps to modern LED technology.
The group expects to record a net loss of around HK$5.5 million from the disposal, but since the group has already made impairment loss on the investment in the subsidiary of approximately HK$11.1million in year 2011, as such, the disposal of the subsidiary may result in a reversal of impairment loss of approximately HK$5.6 million in year 2013.
The principal business activities of Arnda Semiconductor Limited include customization, enhancement and business activities pertaining to the sales, customer service, production and distribution of LED lighting driver integrated circuits for solid state lighting. It recorded a loss of HK$1.25 billion last year.Mitsubishi and Pioneer have established a new company called MC Pioneer OLED Lighting (MPOL). The registered capital of the new company was one hundred and fifty million yen, and the two companies each contributed 50%. The new company will handle OLED lighting marketing and sales in Japan. MPOL offers Verbatim's Velve color-tunable OLED lighting panels that jointly made by Mitsubishi and Pioneer.

a longer life cycle than traditional fluorescents
The Property Manager, Felix Gonzalez, decided to contact U.S. energy
efficiency consultant Bright Energy Services (BES) to help him meet the
challenge. Bright Energy Services is no stranger to the YMCA of Greater New
York. BES successfully upgraded the lighting in two major sections of the
McBurney YMCA facility last year, and is currently in the process of
retrofitting six more branches around the city.
BES performed a lighting audit and presented an energy analysis and a financial analysis to Gonzalez. Bonnie Hagen, COO of BES, recommended replacing the existing fluorescent, high-pressure sodium, and incandescent lamps with LED lamps. Hagen explained, "LED lighting has come a long way technologically and significantly reduces energy load, and therefore, energy expenses."Gonzalez reviewed the analysis and determined that, "With better light quality and a longer life cycle than traditional fluorescents, it just makes good financial sense to upgrade to LEDs." Dordy Jourdain, the branch Executive Director, agreed. "This energy savings project is aligned with our mission to improve health and well-being,” Jourdain explained. “Reducing our energy load helps to reduce emissions, creating a better environment globally." He gave the go-ahead for the proposed retrofit, and the project was commenced.
BES selected the best LED products to use for the facility as well as the installation team. R.B. Evans of Aleddra LED Lighting supplied EasiRetrofit LED T8 lamps for the project. "This innovative LED linear light tube only uses 50% of the energy of the existing lamps while meeting the most current UL standards, putting the Aleddra EasiRetrofit LED T8 in a class of its own," Evans explained.Bright Energy Services managed the project from start to finish, coming in on time and on budget.

the high efficiency of every fitting
A specialist light engine from Luxonic manages the brightness of the led high bay light while a satin diamond faceted reflector is an option to further control the
luminaries luminance. This management of luminance quality results in a more
visually comfortable environment for the users of the headquarters.
Invited to work on the project by Rotary North West and BAM construction due to previous success on high-end projects, Luxonic worked closely with designers Burro Happold and architect 3D Reid throughout the detailed design stage and continued to project completion. The Luxonic luminaries offered the highest levels of efficiency on the market, and confirmed the company’s specification for the provision of the lighting.
Luxonic Lighting pioneers technologies in interior lighting design whilst considering the life cycle of a product from its concept through to its end-of-life. Luxonic’s sustainable approach ‘Eco-Design’ is an effective environmental management system that maintains performance and productivity whilst ensuring orientation and safety for the led flood light. It allows customers and companies to purchase and use Luxonic products in an equally sustainable way. At One Angel Square this commitment to the environment contributes to the project’s overall goal of sustainability, and helps to enhance the Co-op’s green credentials through the high efficiency of every fitting.

Fewer businesses have a greater appreciation for lighting
Fewer businesses have a greater appreciation for lighting than automotive
dealerships, or at least those who pay the energy bills. According to Energy
Star, auto dealerships use, on average, more energy per square foot than a
typical office building.
But the benefits of a lighting upgrade don’t stop at energy reduction. By upgrading lights from legacy technology to LED, fixtures need to be re-lamped less often which reduces maintenance costs and minimizes inconvenience. Additionally, LED luminaries can be specified for interior and exterior spaces in a number of Correlated Color Temperatures (CCT) with higher Color Rendering Index (CRI) values, which can enhance the visual appeal of merchandising on the showroom and sales lot.
There are of variety of other potential benefits to an LED upgrade as well, including a reduced form factor and Effective Projected Area (EPA), which can reduce the cost of poles (for new installations). The specialized optical systems used by LED luminaries have the ability to increase light levels on cars, but reduce light pollution (sky glow) and glare. LED luminaries are controls friendly, which allows for increased savings through dimming light levels where and when 100 percent output is not required.
