The LT3599EUH is available in a 32-lead 5mm x 5mm QFN package and the LT3599EFE is offered in a TSSOP-28E. 1,000-piece pricing starts at $3.25 each and $3.35 each, respectively. Industrial grade versions, the LT3599IUF and LT3599IFE, are tested and guaranteed to operate to the -40°C to 125°C operating junction temperature and are priced at $3.82 each and $3.94 each, respectively, in 1,000-piece quantities.

As highlight amongst the new additions to the product family, the 23-inch LQ231U1LW31 display features 500cd/m2 brightness, a 170° viewing angle, incredible color depth with 16 million colors and a static contrast of 600:1 for industry displays. The anti-reflection coating ensures the display to remain legible in difficult light conditions, making it suitable as a screen component for current industrial control units as well as for outdoors applications such as sales and information terminals, ATMs, testing and measurement equipment, boat control systems.

LQ121S1LG62, the new 12.1-inch TFT LCD with LED backlighting, is characterised by its extended operating temperature range of -30°C to 80°C, its mechanical robustness, and its long service life of 70,000 hours.

To reach the operating temperatures required for industrial applications, Sharp has designed the housing of the new LCDs specifically for LED background lighting and equipped them with dedicated heat management: heat conductors transport the waste heat of the LEDs and their drivers to the rear outer side of the panel where it can be easily given off into the environment.

Samples of the two new LCDs with LED backlight – LQ231U1LW31 and LQ121S1LG62 – are available immediately from Sharp Microelectronics sales offices and distribution partners in Europe. Series production is due to start in Q3 of 2009.
